The Royal School is a small independent day and boarding school for girls. Our girl day pupils are aged 3 - 16 years and
boarders are welcomed from the age of 11 upwards. The school
is situated in the pleasant surroundings of Hampstead, in
the Borough of Camden, which enjoys a village atmosphere in
the heart of London. Our Junior School consists of Nursery
to Year 6, and entry to the Senior School is, in the main,
automatic for our Junior girls. Our classes are small and
our pupil/teacher ratio excellent so that all our girl
pupils can benefit from the personal attention of their
teachers.
As with many major independent schools in the United
Kingdom, the Royal School, Hampstead is a registered charity.
It was founded on its present site in 1855 with the aims of
"to nurse, board, clothe and educate the female children,
orphans or not, of soldiers in Her Majesty's Army killed in
the Crimean War". The school has always been favoured with
Royal patronage from Queen Victoria to Her Royal Highness, the
Duchess of Cornwall. An
active board of Trustees oversees the management of the
school. |
